A visit to the beautiful medieval town of Murau, which is 6 km away, is always nice and highly recommended. Here you will find nice shops, cozy terraces and good restaurants. Murau is somewhat larger than Kreischberg and there you can find just a little more variety in the types of shops and supermarkets.
In addition to beautiful walks in the mountains, you can also cycle or walk along the Murradweg. This is a famous cycle path along the river Mur, right through the region. You can do this right from the comfort of your holiday home, Haus Estelle.
Winter in Kreischberg
Starting December 1 of each year, a fantastic and snow-sure family ski area with over 40 km of slopes and modern lifts is ready to enjoy. The slopes are waiting for you at 350m from the front door.
A new gondola lift was built in the winter of 2021/2022, which has doubled the current capacity. That means even less waiting time for everyone.
The Funpark is one of the absolute best in the world! Major FIS competitions are organized here every year. There are also plenty of opportunities for cross-country skiers and winter hikers.
Fancy tobogganing? You can do that here too!
You will find all information clearly presented on the Kreischberg website.
Swimming in the indoor pool in Murau can of course also be very pleasant after a day in the cold snow.

During summer you can not only move along the river Mur but also across the Mur by means of a raft, for those who love fresh water this is definitely recommended.

One can pay a visit to the Freibad in Murau or the indoor swimming pool in Murau, about three and five km away respectively. Both pools have a slide for the younger visitors.
Between the Kreischberg ski area and the town of Murau one can find the beautiful 18-hole golf course "Golfclub Murau-Kreischberg". Wooded areas and ponds form a beautiful and varied course. From the terrace of the lovely clubhouse you have a beautiful view over a large part of the course.
Even for Formula 1 fans it is a good place to stay because the Red Bull Ring is about a 45min drive from the house. Kreischberg is therefore slightly orange during the Formula 1 week.
The tourist office, which is about 50m from the front door, is a great place to pop in and ask what is happening in the Murtal area.
A preview? This is possible on the Kreischberg website.
